Our assessment: the condition, a US-Iran war, occurred in June 2025 and at full scale from February 2026. The consequent held in part. China did assist Iran: reported BeiDou targeting access, geospatial intelligence, sodium perchlorate shipments for missile fuel, and the bulk of Iranian oil exports, while denying military aid and playing mediator, which matches the predicted ambiguity. Beijing sent no troops, called the strikes a violation of international law, answered the missile-sale allegation with "The report is not true", and helped broker the April ceasefire. The ambiguity limb therefore held. The second limb, assistance at a level acceptable to the United States, clearly failed: Washington sanctioned Chinese entities under Executive Order 13949 for supplying satellite imagery that enabled strikes on American forces, seized a vessel, and lost an F-15E, callsign Dude 44.
